My positions on local issues (alphabetically):

  • Affordable housing: require that a range of affordable housing units be given priority approval ahead of other development types. No more waving the action in place of cash contributions. We need genuine affordable housing now!
  • Agricultural Land Reserve: enhance access to farmland, mentorship, public education series on uses of the Agricultural Land Reserve (nearly 40% of Richmond is ALR). Learn more our plan at riterichmond.ca
  • Canada Line Skytrain: connect to new bike lanes and work to return the street-level interurban tram to connect Steveston, Hamilton and a rapid transit tunnel to Delta
  • City spending: fiscally prudent to lead us into a steady state economy. Provide community services to those hubs that have been neglected (my neighbourhood in West Cambie as an example
  • Garden City Lands: a city-led project proposal should be timely delivered to provide public open space with Agricultural Land Reserve appropriate uses
  • Green infrastructure: use of best practices to encourage all new building structures to meet highest of energy efficiencies, with adequate incentives that also encourage a “Made in Canada” purchasing policy
  • Heritage buildings: collaborate with community stakeholders for the best provision of service to be provided from these public facilities and actively promote the retention of our remaining historic and natural features
  • Livable wages: I pledge to guarantee a high standard of living for everyone in our community
  • Oval: open more of this space for public use and prevent the privatization of the services within
  • Transportation priorities: bike land connectivity, public transit over freeways, and a light rail network
  • Vancouver Airport Expansion and Jet Fuel Pipeline: in opposition to the VAFFC project and a critic of the YVR runway expansion plans
  • Walmart: all hope is not lost. Council can hold Smartcentres to accountable to all their promises at the upcoming Development Permit Meetings
  • Wastewater and sewage treatment: work towards tertiary treatment at all of the plants along the Fraser River
  • Water: ban bottled water at city functions and lead to the promotion of our local tap water

Ask me for my opinion on a topic and I will add it above. Elect me as a public representative FOR our community and health will be at the heart of my policy making.
